In UK, almost every household owns at least one vacuum cleaner, especially those with carpets or pets. The UK vacuum cleaner market is dynamic and records high annual sales.
In recent years, the quality of vacuum cleaners has improved in all areas, from large and bulky single-function vacuum cleaners to small and elegant multifunctional vacuum cleaners. At the same time, functional accessories are becoming increasingly available.
In 2025, the number of models available is incalculable, which can complicate the choice. Should you opt for a corded or cordless model? A robot? A special model for pet hair? What about allergies? And what budget should you plan for?
The difference between a good and a bad vacuum cleaner is not only in the price-performance ratio, but also in the time and energy required to use it.
Consumers generally prefer high-quality, powerful, and easy-to-use models. For example, many choose one with different accessories and features to suit different types of cleaning tasks.
We’ve found that a good vacuum cleaner can clean up to five times faster than a poor model at the same price.
Some models come with a host of additional attachments to remove all kinds of dirt, while others require the purchase of additional attachments to remove pet hair from sofa cushions, for example.
Additionally, with increased awareness of health and environmental issues, vacuum cleaners with efficient, quiet and energy-efficient filtration systems are gaining popularity.
According to a German study, vacuum cleaners with insufficient suction power and faulty filtration systems are the most common cause of dust-related allergies, such as asthma, in children and adults. The vacuum cleaner’s filtration system is therefore essential. It fulfills two functions: protecting the motor and ensuring the cleanliness of the exhaust air.
In summary, there are many elements to take into account to make the best choice.
Over the past six months, we’ve conducted a comprehensive test of over 87 vacuum cleaners of different types and brands to find the best vacuum cleaner for 2025.
Generally, vacuum cleaners are classified into corded and cordless vacuums, and we recommend a cordless handheld vacuum.
You should look for
At least 10,000 Pa suction
The suction power of the vacuum cleaner is an essential factor, as it directly influences its efficiency and ability to capture particles such as dust and dirt. When purchasing, choose a suction power of at least 10 kPa, which is sufficient for cleaning surfaces such as carpets, sofas, floors, etc
Handy design
Most of the cordless vacuums we tested struggle to get into nooks and crannies simply because they’re too heavy and difficult to control. However, the easiest-to-control models passed our cleaning test much faster
HEPA filter
HEPA filter is a high-efficiency filter that traps tiny dust and dirt particles, improving indoor air quality and protecting the health of family members as much as possible. While HEPA filters are not fully washable, some models can be cleaned with warm water and a low-pressure tap.
Additional equipment
Most people don’t realize how beneficial additional equipment can be. By choosing the right brand, you’ll benefit from different brush heads and nozzles that adapt to what and where you’re vacuuming (dog hair, hard floors, corners, moldings, etc.), instead of spending even more money on additional purchaseMost people don’t realize how beneficial additional equipment can be. By choosing the right brand, you’ll benefit from different brush heads and nozzles that adapt to what and where you’re vacuuming (dog hair, hard floors, corners, moldings, etc.), instead of spending even more money on additional purchase
You should avoid
Noisy engines (+65 db)
Despite the advances in cordless vacuum cleaners, many models unfortunately remain quite noisy. If you’re already investing in a unit, it’s a good idea to choose one that isn’t too noisy
Heavy models (+3 kg)
A cordless vacuum cleaner shouldn’t be heavy, as it should be easy to control and use. If you have to exert a lot of effort every time you vacuum, the cleaning will likely be much less effective (and you risk tiring your arms)
Lack of additional equipment
If you buy a model without different brushes and attachments, you risk ending up with a vacuum cleaner that can’t remove, for example, dog hair or gravel. Therefore, it’s important to purchase additional accessories that can be adapted to your needs
High energy consumption
Many people believe that the more watts a vacuum cleaner uses, the more efficient it is. Wattage measures the amount of power the motor needs to generate enough revolutions to vacuum. The best vacuum cleaners use the fewest watts possible and produce optimal suction power
We evaluate based on the following criteria
- Suction power
- Ease of use
- Dust filtration
- Noise
- Sustainability
- Energy consumption
- Value for money

Review
I discovered this brand by chance and had a great time. Who could refuse such a stylish and powerful vacuum cleaner, with its 3-function replacement head, at the lowest price? This is undoubtedly the highlight of my review today.
The AeroSweep S12 offers the best value for money. With a powerful 100,000 Pa motor and very low noise, it cleans your entire home faster than ever before. Unlike other vacuums, this vacuum features an auto mode that automatically adjusts suction power and speed based on the amount of debris and dust detected, for optimal cleaning and maximum battery life. Of course, you can also switch to manual mode. Three speeds are adjustable.
It uses advanced aerodynamic systems and powerful motors, allowing it to deep clean different types of surfaces, such as carpets and hard floors.
In addition, thanks to its light weight and 1 liter dust container, it makes it easy to clean the entire house or apartment in no time.
As for the price, we were surprised to find such a powerful cordless vacuum at such a low price. Their secret? A team of Danish engineers who joined forces to design household items and appliances using the same components as major brands, but at a significantly lower price.

2. V15
Our Rating
Price
Pros
- Powerful V15 engine
- Easy to use
- Precise laser angle detection
Cons
- Dust bin capacity (0.4 l)
- 30 minutes battery life in actual use
Review
In second place is the well-known V15, renowned for its powerful motors, and the V15 is no exception. It’s an excellent vacuum cleaner that cleans faster and more efficiently, and can remove all types of dirt.
However, we feel it doesn’t offer great value for money, as we found some flaws.
Although the V15 can be replaced with different types of suction heads to meet the cleaning needs of different situations, the number of suction heads currently available is still limited and may not fully meet the needs of users.
Compared to the Aerosweep, the V15 has a dust bin of only 0.4 liters, which meant we had to fill and empty it quickly. Additionally, the V15’s suction power is lower than the Aerosweep’s: it has only 20 kPa, compared to 27 kPa for the Aerosweep, giving it greater suction capacity and a cleaner environment.
Whether the price is a matter of brand or technology is anyone’s guess, but we thought it was possible to get more for your money.
In summary, the competition was close between V15 and Aerosweep, but it was clear that the latter could only finish second this time.
3. Classic C1
Our Rating
Price
Pros
- Long life
- Good suction performance
- Efficient filtration system
Cons
- Noisy
- Heavy in portable mode (7 kg)
- Bigger, bulkier and takes up space in storage
- May have difficulty vacuuming carpets (according to consumers)
Review
The Classic C1 comes in third place.
This canister vacuum cleaner is manufactured and developed in Germany. Equipped with a powerful motor, it offers excellent suction power and a power output of 1200 watts. This effectively removes dirt from carpets and cracks. Despite its power, the motor remains relatively quiet. This Classic C1 vacuum cleaner uses our own Vortex technology and several filtration systems, which effectively filter fine particles suspended in the air and prevent secondary pollution.
However, we quickly noticed the Classic C1’s significant weight! At a whopping 7 kg, 60 minutes of cleaning can quickly lead to sore arms and hands, as well as numerous problems when cornering.
Its price is higher, but this model comes with the most basic accessories.
The 6 different power modes allow you to adjust the suction power of the air through the filter. The device can clean upholstery and various other soft surfaces, such as upholstered furniture.
The model comes with a 1-year warranty on the entire machine, and the engine has a separate 7-year warranty. But the Classic C1 is very expensive.
4. Shark
Our Rating
Price
Pros
- Great additional features
- Long life
Cons
- The waste bin is small
- Very heavy (4 kg)
In fourth place is the IZ662H. We found a vacuum cleaner with a wide range of accessories and additional features, as well as a long battery life of 42 minutes, making it very effective in our cleaning test.
The Multiflex tube swivels easily for deep cleaning under furniture. It may sound strange, but it’s effective.
On short-pile carpet, another success, and always impeccable with the rollers.
While the extra features were helpful for reaching into corners and cleaning surfaces, they didn’t make up for its price or weight.
It was also one of the more expensive options and, according to our information, it also did not have a delayed shutdown system.
Finally, it was quite noisy and slightly heavier than the other models tested.
